Planet Ice Widnes General Manager Paul O’Prey presents Mikey Gilbert with the MVP award after a Widnes Wild match
The YKK sponsored Widnes Wild are saddened to announce the passing of Paul O’Prey, the General Manager of our home at Planet Ice Widnes.
Paul was a fun loving guy who welcomed everyone in to the building and was dedicated to his role of managing the rink.
He was a keen and solid supporter of ice hockey activity held at the rink at all levels of the game from juniors to senior, men’s to women’s and beginners’ classes and recreational to semi-professional. Everybody who came into contact with him – be it players, team staff, match officials, club volunteers and spectators – was always touched by his enthusiasm and ever willingness to assist.
Paul will be deeply missed by the Wild Family and his colleagues at the rink and our thoughts are with Paul’s family at this sad time.
