The YKK sponsored Widnes Wild are saddened to announce that Player / Coach Richard Haggar is leaving the club with immediate effect.
Haggar joined the Wild as a player for the North 21 Cup series in 2021 and then took over as Player Coach for the 3 Rivers Cup. He guided the Wild to the Division 1 National Championship in 2021 and led their debut Moralee Division season where they finished in a creditable 3rd place and also won the Moralee Cup.
Talking about Haggar’s departure, Wild Chairman Danny Davies said:
“We'd like to thank Rich for all he's done for the club, especially in the early days of this season during our transition into the role. It's safe to say we wouldn't be where we are today without Rich's support. We wish him all the best for the future."
An announcement about Haggar’s successor will be made shortly.
